Meet the team

Skiena received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois in 1988, and has authored over 130 technical papers. He is a former Fulbright scholar, and recipient of the ONR Young Investigator Award and the IEEE Computer Science and Engineer Teaching Award.

Junting Ye is a 5th-year Ph.D. std at Stony Brook University. His interests are in the fields of data mining and applied machine learning, anomaly detection, large-scale news & social media anlaysis. He has been working with Dr. Steven Skiena and Dr. Leman Akoglu. Junting will join Facebook as a research scientist in Jun 2019.

I'm a 2nd year PhD CS student at Stony Brook University. My research interests are Natural Language Processing, Data Science, AI and ML. I have worked on multiple research projects in these domains, in teams as well as individually. I'm particularly interested in application-oriented research in NLP.
